Day-by-day schedule
After a morning flight from Addis Ababa to Lalibela Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel to drop off your luggage and begin your guided exploration of the Rock-Hewn Churches, Lalibela.
Northern Group: Start with Bete Medhane Alem, the largest monolithic church in the world, supported by 72 pillars. Continue to Bete Maryam, which houses beautiful ancient frescoes. Spiritual History: Visit the smaller chapels of Bete Meskel and Bete Danaghel, dedicated to early Christian martyrs.
Iconic Finale: End the afternoon at Church of St. George, the most famous and photogenic structure, carved in the shape of a perfect cross into the volcanic rock.
